The Ingredients: Made from fresh sugarcane juice, cachaça is the national spirit of Brazil.  Pronounced “Ka-Cha-Sah,” this beverage is commonly referred to as a rum, but it is quite different.  It as a more subtle sweetness than rum, and the fruit characteristics are a bit brighter in general.

The “Gold” version is aged in oak, and therefore takes on sweeter vanillin notes and a bit of wood as well as a gold color.
