About This Product :
The Rice: Rice grown by local Yamanashi farmers. The exact kind of rice is unpublished.
Prefecture: Yamanashi, Rice: Local, Semaibuai: 60%, SMV: +2, Acidity: 1.4, ABV: 15%
The Sake: Enjoy the balance and earthy richness and aroma of this sake. A soft mouthfeel invites you to drink more, and enjoy its easy-going nature. The most important flavor note would be: freshly steamed rice. That is the ultimate goal, always.
This sake will improve the deliciousness of every meal due to its Honjozo nature. Honjozo sake has jozo (neutral spirits) added after fermentation. This allows the sake’s character to be lightened, or “broadened.” The sake is then diluted back down with water to reach 16% alcohol, so it is not higher in alcohol due to this addition.
The Format: Bottle- 720ml and 1.8L
The Brewery: Yorozuya Brewery has a long, beautiful and romantic history. Founded 230 years ago, the name of their brand, “Shunnouten” comes from a particular event in their past. A wandering poet stopped at the brewery for the night, and upon drinking the sake brewed there, he was inspired to compose a poem, and compared the feeling of drinking their sake to listening to a spring warbler high in the trees. Spring warbler, in Japanese, is Shunnouten. What a compliment! The poem is engraved in stone at the brewery- please visit it sometime yourself.
